Appointments

For non-urgent issues, please follow the guidelines below and choose the right service. An appointment may not be necessary.

This will help us to be more efficient by making an appointment available to you when you need it the most.

Before you book an appointment

You can see a pharmacist for minor conditions or check our self-help and self-referral information.

The nearest Blood Test Clinics are:

  • Bannerbrook Pharmacy, 5-7 Gramercy Road CV4 9AE
  • Mount Nod Pharmacy, 126 Sutherland Avenue CV5 7NJ
  • City of Coventry Health Centre, Stoney Stanton Road, CV1 4FS.

Telephone Appointments

We can talk to patients at a dedicated appointment time over the telephone or undertake a video appointment on a mobile phone. This enables the clinician to assess the patient's symptoms and establish if the condition can be managed remotely, or whether the patient needs to be examined and therefore a face-to-face appointment will be arranged.

How to book

Sickness certificates (fit notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home visits

Home visits are for patients who are too unwell to attend surgery.

If you need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10am.

Telephone: 02475 410 180.

A Doctor or Nurse will contact the patient by telephone prior to any visit. Please note that several patients can be seen in surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit. Also, the Doctor has more ease of access for communication and equipment at the surgery.

Chaperones

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required.

Read our chaperone policy

Important information

  • The pass provides 1 weeks free bus travel (an additional code for 2 weeks with 20% discount will be emailed to the patient after the 1st week travel is about to expire)
  • The bus pass can only be used within the West Midlands
  • It is only to be used by 16+
  • Only one bus pass per persons is permitted

Change or cancel an appointment

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.

If you are cancelling please telephone us on 02475 410 180 as soon as possible, and at least 30 minutes before your appointment time.

If you have made an appointment but managed to get an earlier appointment, please make sure you cancel the one that is no longer required. This will enable us to offer your appointment to someone else.

Alternatively, you can cancel your appointment online using Patient Access or the NHS App if you are signed up to the service.

Repeated failure to attend booked appointments is a significant waste of NHS resources.

Out of hours

Extended Hours Service (EHS)

Limbrick Wood Surgery have formed an alliance with a number of Practices across the city and are now able to offer:

  • Evening appointments, Monday to Friday, 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
  • Weekend appointments, Saturday 9am to 12pm and Sunday 10am to 1pm.

These additional clinics are based on the ground floor of the City of Coventry Health Centre and 60 Station Avenue, Tile Hill and are manned by GPs working across the City. If you wish to benefit from these appointments, please contact our reception team before 6:30pm.

The advantage of this service is that, because the appointment is made during surgery opening hours, the patient’s notes, including allergies, all medications and the latest test results, are sent to the Extended Hours Service, so the outcome is much more satisfactory.
